Life beings at

It’s been a busy month or so so here’s the quick update…

I carelessly lost my flatmate (Damien the Aussie) about a month ago but have brilliantly found a new one (Sam from England). I’ve not actually met him yet having just chatted on the phone so May 12th (moving in date) could be interesting but until then I’m rather enjoying having my flat to myself.

I’ve tried a new food in the form of pigeon brain, not the most filling or tasty of dishes but a good one to tick off!

I turning up for the last afternoon of the HK Rugby 7s after 6 hours sleep from 3 days, admittedly not a great plan but when you've just flown in from Germany there isn't a lot you can do about it.

The reason for the lack of sleep and flight was due to a hectic 6 days travelling between Germany, Spain and Switzerland before heading back to HK via Bangkok overnight. It was a work trip though more of a jolly than anything else so won’t grumble. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough leave to get over to the UK after the “work” but did get a little time off to take in the sights of Frankfurt, Barcelona and Basel outside the real work of visiting to the Vitra design campus and entertaining the designers we took over with a little European food and drink.

The 7s weren’t quite as manic as last years as England were knocked out before I arrived but seeing as Michelle was working there and could get me in for free……. I was beginning to think turning 30 had cured me of hangovers but the day after having had yet another night with minimal sleep I was proved wrong.

Oh yes, I turned the big three zero. Seeing as it was a bit of a big one I opted for a two pronged attack on my liver and so started out on my birthday with an all you can drink lunch followed by the final round of the 6 nations which fortunately or otherwise depending on your point of view didn’t finish until about 4 in the morning.

For the second do I hired a junk and had the first boat trip of the season, this time it was an all afternoon all you can drink session with some fancy grub and a rather chilly dip in the South China Sea. Once back on dry land the celebrations carried on into the night and were obviously given a proper send off with a late night/ early morning kebab, who wants to grow up!!!

I passed another anniversary yesterday in the form of 3 years since leaving the UK, I have to say it has flown by but not sure how much longer it’ll be before I’m moving on, that said I was offered a new job last week so ……

And that’s about me, until the next time.
